Have you noticed the new look here at loismackin.com?
I decided that after several years of poison green and drop caps, it was time for something different. Having researched the portfolios of several web designers, I reached out to Carla Cegielski, a professional genealogist based in Ohio, who is also a talented and knowledgeable web design professional.
I knew Carla, who volunteers as webmaster for the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), from attending the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh with her, and also from moderating one of the webinars she’s presented for APG on creating an online presence. (Carla will be presenting another website talk at APG’s upcoming Professional Management Conference in Arlington, Virginia, this fall.)
Carla proved to be a great choice. She efficiently shepherded me through the process of transitioning to a new hosting company, selecting an up-to-date, well supported template, and implementing a new color scheme. During the transition she gently advised me on upgrading the content and organization of my website pages, while taking care of the technical side of the transition and updating the website plugins. I was very happy with her responsiveness, thoroughness, and clarity in answering questions and providing recommendations.
I hope you like the new loismackin.com as much as I do. If you need help with your web presence (or your genealogical research), you can contact Carla through her APG directory page.
Very nice! Looks great, easy to use menu.
Love it! Talk to you Wednesday
